Local employers gathered in Belfast on 14th November for the first in a series of specialist legal and tax events delivered by ourselves and advisory firm BDO Northern Ireland.
The two firms partnered to deliver the first ‘Incentivise and Thrive’ event, an informative, free to attend breakfast session covering legal and tax advice for employers with staff that work from home, in a different jurisdiction or between the north and south of Ireland.
Employment Law Director, David Mitchell, said: “It was fantastic to see a good turnout at our first co-hosted event in partnership with BDO at Custom House Belfast. We wanted to create a series of events that unpack and explore common but complex legal and tax issues facing employers. Given our combined expertise, we make a good partnership to speak on these topics. We want guests to leave feeling that they’ve learned something that will help them immediately.”
Jane Lee, Tax Director at BDO Northern Ireland, adds: “Our first event was titled ‘Mastering Mobility,’ exploring everything from redundancy to working from home policies and lots in between. Alongside our associates at Millar McCall Wylie, we want to help local employers and HR professionals feel empowered that they can make decisions with all the information they need. We have two more sessions planned for 2025, one in February and one in May, and given the success of our first gathering, we hope to see even more employers getting involved.”
