Paul joined BDO in June 2005. He trained as a solicitor in a corporate law firm in the City of London, qualifying as a solicitor in 2003 and as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 2005. Paul spent 15 months in the firm's corporate tax department, providing tax advice to a variety of corporate clients. At BDO he has worked on a wide range of corporate tax consultancy projects.
His work has included advising on:
- corporate acquisitions and disposals, including advising on tax efficient structures and tax indemnities;
- suitable vehicles for property development and investments, using UK and international structures;
- methods to minimise stamp duty land tax on the acquisition of UK property and other stamp duty related matters;
- restructuring of business interests, including mergers and ownership splits.
