BDO presents “Dec the Holls!”
BDO NI team members and talented musicians, Declan Rice and Holly Johnston, have switched the boardroom for busking this festive season in the hope of raising vital fund for their charity partner, The Children’s Cancer Unit Charity.
The leading local business advisors have pledged their support for the Unit, which is the only place in Northern Ireland where children can receive specialist treatment for cancer, over the last year and a half. During that time, they have explored new and unusual ways to raise money for this local charity – already reaching the £25,000 mark.
However, they don’t want to stop there. In an attempt to smash over £30,000, a new record for BDO NI’s charitable giving, the pair are taking their musical talents to the streets of Belfast and some Christmas parties throughout December to busk for additional donations as “Deck the Holls”.
Speaking at their 2019 debut, Declan said:
“We want to show that we are more than just accountants and there is a whole different side to us beneath the suits. We’ve also been rehearsing for a few weeks now, so we plan to put on a good show for everyone. Fingers crossed the public enjoy it enough to put their hands in their pockets and donate to this amazing cause.”
Anna McDonald from the Children’s Cancer Unit Charity added:
“We have always said how talented our partners are, but BDO NI really have topped the charts with this one. The response on the street has already been fantastic, but that’s no surprise when you hear how great they are. Expect some festive favourites, as well as both current and classic hits, so there will be something for everyone to enjoy!”
Entertaining commuters, busy ‘lunch-breakers’ and Christmas shoppers, the busking duo ‘Deck the Holls’ will be found on Callender Street on Thursday 12th and Thursday 19th December and the Wellington Park Hotel on Friday 20th December.
