NI Business Simulator: Upper 6th Business studies students
This innovative project and event, developed by BDO Northern Ireland, Queen's University Management School and Henderson Group, are the first of its kind for NI Upper 6th Business Studies students.
Using a real-time simulator, the purpose of this project is to enable the demonstration of abstract concepts, allow interaction between users and simulate decision-based scenarios, while providing users with feedback that allow them to continuously improve their knowledge and skills. In addition, the tool specifically aligns with the learning outcomes of the GCE AS and A2 Business Studies curriculum.

Teams, comprising 4-5 pupils, must register before Friday 25 October 2019, with the Finals Day taking place on Friday 22 November 2019 in Queen’s Management School (Riddel Hall, 185 Stranmillis Road, Belfast) from 10am.
Upon registration, a separate simulation log-in will be provided for each team to enable them to become familiar with the tool, test and try out different scenarios and better understand how decisions impact on different aspects of the simulated business.
On the Finals Day, the tool developer will be on site to set a new and bespoke challenge for all the registered teams. Teams will have 3 hours to complete the challenge. A panel to include BDO Northern Ireland, Henderson Group and QUB representatives will select a winner from this exercise.
