Belfast Book Review - A Novel Initiative
BDO Northern Ireland, together with corporate speaker and trainer, David Meade has launched the Belfast Business Book Review, the first of its kind for Northern Ireland business leaders.
The aim of the Belfast Business Book Review is to provide an informal setting for professionals to explore the latest in business thinking through these books. Insights and new ideas can be shared through the book club that can then help shape practical innovations within NI businesses.
Laura Jackson, Partner at BDO Northern Ireland, explained her reasoning behind setting up the Belfast Business Book Review,
“We want to encourage leaders to engage on new and relevant topics and have the chance to learn from others who may think differently from them. Reading and discussing the latest business books can be good for the mind, good for leadership, and ultimately good for business. The Belfast Business Book Review is open to anyone who wants to grow personally and professionally.”
Taking place bi-monthly, BDO Northern Ireland partner Laura Jackson alongside David Meade will read and review a set of 6 business books during 2016/2017. As well as general opinion, each book review will discuss the learning’s from the book and how these can be applied into practice.
The Belfast Business Book Review started in October 2016 and the first focused on Angela Duckworth’s, “Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance”.
