Aim Higher - Alternative Investment Market (AIM) Seminar

Location:  Culloden Hotel, Cultra

Date: 4th October 2006

Opportunities offered by the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) attracted a select gathering of some of Northern Ireland’s leading business leaders to BDO Stoy Hayward’s most recent event.

Hosted in association with Tughans Solicitors, the seminar highlighted key commercial and practical matters surrounding AIM listings, enabling our high profile attendees to determine if this is an option they should consider as an additional means of securing capital, either for realising shareholder value or for additional funding investment to grow their companies.

In addition to very entertaining and informative presentations from BDO Stoy Hayward Corporate Finance Partner Francis Martin and Tax Partner Peter Burnside, we were delighted to be joined by the London Stock Exchange (we believe this is a first for Northern Ireland) and AIM specialists, Manchester based Brokers, W H Ireland (experts in placing AIM listings to potential investors) and Cobbetts Solicitors (a leading legal firm who also specialise in AIM listings).

Nationally BDO Stoy Hayward have acted as reporting accountants on more AIM listings than any other UK accounting firm and the Belfast office has been integral to that success. Francis Martin and Peter Burnside have recently acted, or are, acting as Reporting Accountants on two AIM assignments, one located in Zimbabwe and the other in Tanzania, it is hoped that our campaign to raise more awareness of the Alternative Investment Market in Northern Ireland will result in additional AIM admissions for local companies.
