Michael Jennings

Michael is a Partner within the Advisory and Forensic Accounting division of BDO Northern Ireland.  Michael is a Chartered Accountant and a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner having passed the JIEB examinations at the November 1998 sitting. Michael is a Member of R3 and has gained over twenty years experience within insolvency having joined BDO in 1992. He has experience of individual and business rescues and formal business recovery and insolvency procedures for personal and corporate clients across a range of industries.

Michael has a solid track record of providing valuable insight and clarity to Counsel during all stages of a dispute. 

Michael has expertise in early case assessment and case theory development, discovery assistance, quantification of exposure, claim preparation, as well as rebuttal and expert witness testimony, across multiple industries. 

Michael focuses on combining accounting analysis and evidence gathering techniques to benefit clients in a wide variety of areas including the Expert Witness core service area, business valuations in a dispute related context, matrimonial actions consequential loss, personal injury and dependency claims. 

Michael has experience in business and strategic planning assignments, appraisals work and financial reviews. He has been involved in economic appraisals, funding applications and programme training and counselling particularly in the area of financial training. 

Michael has played a key role in developing the Advisory and Forensic Accounting team in BDO Northern Ireland and fostering the growth of the team through local and national relationships. He has taken on numerous formal insolvency and forensic accounting appointments for corporate and personal clients and on behalf of lenders and financial institutions.
