Audit Manager (M/A/09-08)

Location: Belfast

ROLE OVERVIEW

The primary responsibility of the Audit Manager will be to deal with all matters relating to the management of a portfolio of clients. They will support the Partners and Directors in client work and provide coaching and development to the Audit team.

MAIN DUTIES

  1. To undertake and manage various audit, accountancy and other related assignments for a portfolio of clients
  2. To plan, supervise and complete assignments to the high technical standards of the Firm.
  3. To take responsibility for timing, staffing, budgets, fee levels and recoveries on individual assignments while achieving a high degree of client satisfaction.
  4. To manage client relationships to ensure that business opportunities are optimised.
  5. To develop and cultivate a network of public and private sector clients and business multipliers, and contribute to the business development activities of the department
  6. To assist in the development of staff to improve performance and efficiency.
  7. Any other duties relevant to this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential Criteria

  • Educated to degree s tandard
  • Professional Accountancy Qualification
  • Chartered Accountant

Desirable Criteria

  • Business related subject

Relevant Experience
Essential Criteria

  • Minimum of two years’ post-qualification experience in an audit /assurance environment.
  • Practical experience of delivery of audit related assignments

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in managing assignments
  • Experience of staff management
  • Experience of negotiation with clients
  • Experience of delivering assignments within tight deadlines
  • Experience in the preparation and delivery of forensic accounting reports
  • Experience of Public Sector audit

Special Aptitudes
Essential Criteria

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Excellent IT skills – in particular, knowledge of computer accounting packages
  • Organisational and planning skills
  • Team skills including willingness to work on multi-disciplinary projects with the firm
  • Capable of interacting at a senior level with public & private sector clients

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge of computer based audit techniques
  • Experience of installation, implementation and training of staff in the use of accounting packages
  • Willingness to develop further skills
  • Ability to adapt to new circumstances and people

Circumstances
Essential Criteria

  • Available to work outside normal working hours, when required.
  • Driving licence and access to car or a form of transport to fulfil the requirements of the post
  • Willing to travel as required.

  • Enthusiastic and motivated
