Your development does not stop once you have your qualification.

In the early stage of an accountant's career, the focus is on the development of professional and technical competence. This will continue to be critically important as your career advances. However, as you progress to more senior levels, technical competence alone will not be enough to guarantee your ongoing success.

We are serious about investing in your career development. We want you to succeed.

In addition to an excellent technical knowledge and know-how programme, to demonstrate our commitment we have designed leadership and management development skills programmes and solutions which are designed to help you ‘widen your perspective’.

The overall aim is to help our accountants build on their current skills all the time, adding new competencies and thinking to their repertoire.

Your ongoing career planning will revolve around twice-yearly performance development reviews. These include appraisal and feedback.

This is the formal time when you can discuss and agree your current and future development requirements, allowing you to maximise your potential and fulfil your ambitions.

There are various development opportunities available to staff to continue their development and career within the firm. Options include, but are not limited to:

  • Development through to assistant manager, manager and beyond within home business group
  • Opportunities to work on client projects with partners and staff in other business areas
  • Secondments or transfers to other departments
  • Client secondments
  • International secondments

International secondments are a way of acquiring and sharing knowledge, skills and experience within our international offices.

All qualified accountants employees are eligible to take either a short or long term secondment. Our internal secondments provide the opportunity to work with a broad range of our clients and businesses.
