1. Qualification
The first step is to qualify and we aim to get trainees through this training period in three and a half years. But that doesn’t mean you’ll have nothing to do until you’ve completed your exams. They’ll be plenty to do with lots of responsibility and, for many, the chance to work with our wide of variety of clients.
We’ve got an excellent reputation and record for getting people through exams by supporting them with counselling, time to study and mentorship. As you approach qualification, it will be a time to consider which area to specialise in. You can stay in the area you have trained in, or move to another if you want. We’ll help you choose what’s right for you.
2. Post qualification
On qualification we’ll help you decide what further training and development you’ll need to take you to the next stage and you’ll take part in our management development programme.
As a senior (qualified), you’ll take on more responsibility and this stage of your career may also include international secondments and work experience outside your core area to enable your development to be as rounded as possible.
3. Management
An important step on the career path is moving up to manager grade. At this stage you’ll be running more teams, working with a broader portfolio of clients and starting to specialise in industry sectors.
As a newly appointed manager, you’ll be put on our second management development programme and continue to learn and develop as you grow in knowledge and expertise. Our managers get involved in a range of other activities that contribute to the firm, such as internal training programmes and sector focus groups where we develop the thinking of our practise in key business areas.
4. Partner
For some managers there will be a senior managers’ development programme once they reach director status. This is an important step towards partnership.
Partnership, in essence, means you become an owner of the business and the opportunity to share in the rewards of business success. In return it’s about becoming a true leader, creating deeper client relationships, contributing to the development of the firm, mentoring others and helping to form the strategy that will take our business forward.
